Covered 4646 km this year. 4831 km is my longest ever distance run in a calendar year, back in 2017. While I’m still at probably my worst physical fitness in life, I’m only 185 km away from my life’s longest distance run in a calendar year. Only difference is, I was shit slow this year, ‘run’ included A LOT of walking, but I didn’t give up. It was painful, it was mentally challenging as I failed to run even 2 km in April, had half a dozen long episodes of binge eating and intrusive thoughts kept me at bay every single day. I was sad after finishing Big Birthday Bash as I was not good enough. In fact, I was embarrassed (even shameful to a certain extent) whenever friends or colleagues asked about it. I didn’t live up to my expectation and hence didn’t even finish writing about it. However, from where I am sitting right now, the more I look back at Big Birthday Bash, the more I feel content with it. I recall all those times when I gave up, and then still chose to move in rains, high winds, with no shelter and no end in sight. I haven’t still hit the gym since December 2021, and I hope one day I will find courage to restart my fitness journey. I just don’t have it in me at this point. Meanwhile, if I dare to be a little more ambitions, I’m 354 km away from touching 5000 km for the first in a calendar year.
